Assistant A/V Design Engineer

Pentegra Systems is seeking an Assistant A/V Design Engineer. This entry-level position will be responsible for assisting the A/V project engineers with system design and CAD and provide technical input regarding new or retrofit systems. Applicants must have entry-level knowledge of A/V systems which can be developed into a more thorough understanding of A/V system design and engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the A/V project engineers with the development of details and drawings used for fabrication and installation of audio, video, and control systems
  • Be capable of developing the ability to design and engineer complete systems
  • Assist with the test and programming of control systems, computer controlled digital signal processors, routers or mixers
  • Develop consistent knowledge of new technology/standards to assure the most accurate documentation processes
  • Help create equipment lists, floor plans, rack and console elevations
  • Other duties as required or assigned by company management


Qualifications:

  • The Assistant A/V Design Engineer shall possess a two-year electronics degree from an accredited college or university. 
  • This person must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well with other people.

  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.
  • Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Experience with AutoCAD required.
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
  • Valid and current drivers license.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

  • Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
  • Some light lifting of objects is required.
  • Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
