General Purpose of Job:
This position handles the post-sales functions of the company’s largest projects to ensure that the goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and cost parameters. plans, organizes, directs, and controls project activities required for effective management of security system projects. Responsible for managing the implementation of jobs contracted to Pentegra Systems, including attending on-site project coordination meetings, coordinating the generation of the project documentation and drawings, creating and managing the project schedule, handling the project’s material logistics, and managing the on-site installation team. Assists the sales engineers with the design and proposal generation of Pentegra Systems provided security systems on as as-needed basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plans and schedules engineering, installation, and subcontracting
activities on large and/or complex systems
a. Maintains current job plans and specifications
b. Facilitates project turnover meetings with the appropriate sales
engineer and Operations staff to review all pertinent job
documentation, verify material and manpower requirements,
establish project schedule, and ensure all project documentation is
correct and available for the shop and field staff
c. Works with engineering department on design and drafting phases
d. Coordinates the procurement of materials, supplies and services
and controls timely delivery to job site
e. Prepares the project installation plan, manages the plan and
prepares and implements job procedures
f. Determines, from review of various information, necessary changes
in design, contract price, installation plan or other activity and
g. Maintains construction schedule and coordinates task scheduling
with other trades.
h. Selects and monitors the performance of subcontractors
i. Keeps self, superiors and subordinates informed of progress
j. Maintains all records of job status, job changes, material flow and
other control records and supervises the preparation and
processing of reports for internal and external use
k. May estimate or assist in estimating projects which the company is

a. Present a professional image of Company when speaking to clients

c. Routinely walks job site to ensure quality installation of Company
d. Responsible for customer satisfaction on projects
3. Monitors job status and controls job costs
a. Provides information to determine labor and material requirements
on a monthly basis
b. Assists management in monthly forecasting
c. Ensures proper job management and cost control by reviewing
project financial statements
d. Supervises the preparation of base data required for monthly job
e. Monitors financial and other reports and works with other
management tools to define project problems
f. Ensures timecards are accurately filled out, complete with job
numbers, work codes, times adds up, hours are correct, time card
is signed and turned in every Monday on to the Office Manager.
Responsible to make sure cards from the field have arrived at
Company. Also responsible for apprentice’s and installers timecard
g. Devises a plan of action to remedy project problems and
implements plan; all to assure project profitability
4. Training and development:
a. Studies literature and attends seminars to stay current with regards
to products, processes and materials
b. Works with installers on installation procedures and product training
for their advancement
5. Job Closure
a. Responsible for coordinating the completion of As-Builds
b. Responsible for completing all paperwork, contract/POs are all
completed, Notice of Completions (NOC) is sent, and jobs are
turned over to Service
c. Job is 100% billed and revenue is taken
d. Job close out report is completed
1. In accordance with applicable Company policies/procedures and
Federal/State laws, may perform the following supervisory responsibilities:
Interviewing, hiring orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Skills and Work Traits:
1. Thorough understanding of IP camera, access control and intrusion
systems design and implementation.
2. PC skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project.
3. Good communication and presentation skills.
4. Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
5. An understanding of job financial reports, progress billing, and the ability to control costs in the handling of large projects.
Education and Experience Requirements:
1. At least 10 years of experience as a project manager for an Security
2. Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical
school in electronics; or three years related experience and/or training.
3. Knowledge of Genetec, LenelS2, Exacq, Axis and Bosch IP video
surveillance, card access, and intrusion products.
