Audio Visual Design Engineer

  • Provide details used for assembly and installation of audio, video, and control systems, including conference room AV systems, video conferencing systems, broadcast video systems and classroom distance learning systems
  • Assist Sales in creating sales proposals when requested.  Ability to design and engineer complete system(s)
  • Assist Installation staff with troubleshooting of system problems in the field during installation
  • Program and test control systems, computer controlled digital signal processors, routers or mixers, video conferencing systems
  • Follow projects through to final adjustment and commissioning of installed systems
  • Create equipment lists, floor plans, block diagrams, wiring diagrams and rack and console elevations
  • Create test plans and test systems.  Test systems in the shop before they are delivered to the job site
  • Coordinate with appropriate departments to assure proper scheduling & integration of designed systems
  • Must be able to provide economically feasible audio/visual, sound, RF, video conferencing and broadcast video systems design, and propose products for suitability and reliability for use on projects

Technical Experience & Qualifications:

  • The Project Engineer shall possess a two-year electronics degree from an accredited college or university
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience in a broadcast or A/V engineering capacity is required
  • Possess a working knowledge of low voltage communications systems
  • Must demonstrate computer literacy, i.e. MS Word, Outlook, and Excel or equivalent
  • Auto CAD LT or Visio experience a plus
  • Must have experience with reviewing bid documents for purposes of evaluating and preparing comprehensive bill of materials and scope of work descriptions
  • Avixa CTS certification a plus
  • Crestron programming experience a plus
  • Crestron DM certification a plus

  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized
  • Must be open to local and out of state travel to client sites as needed
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, teach, and share knowledge.
